Arctic Hysteria

Mythic imagination gives rise to Pekka Jylha’s enchanting sculpture of a stuffed hare poised at the edge of a pool of clear water that fills a stainless steel dish eight feet across. A similar sensibility informs nonwearable clothing made of plants by Anni Rapinoja. Boots and slippers of pussy willow tips and a set of fur coats — mother, child and baby size — delicately assembled from brown reeds are like garments for a family of Nordic wood nymphs.
